First of all, it’s beautiful! I mean maths. If you agree with me, wonderful, we’ll enjoy it together. If not, never mind. I believe that almost anyone can learn to use as much maths as they need. I know how important it is for a teenager to be in a friendly environment, to see their own success and gain confidence, and I try to set up my lessons so that everything comes with enjoyment.
I lived for many years in Yekaterinburg, Russia, in the Urals, where there are mountains and forests. There I earned a master’s degree in mathematics, started a family and raised three children. Then we moved to Israel, and three years later to England. It was in Israel that I became a maths tutor for Russian-speaking children. Many of them had only just arrived in a new country, were studying in a language they hardly knew, and needed support. In England I set about learning the specifics of the school curriculum. Now, comparing the three approaches to teaching in three countries, I enjoy noticing the strengths of each and using the best and most interesting ideas.
Lessons
I help students in Years 7 to 12, including preparation for GCSE Maths and A-level Maths. And if you are 9 or older and school maths is too easy for you, come along and we’ll find something out of the ordinary, because the most interesting things never made it into the textbook.
Lessons are one-to-one, online only, at flexible times. Prices on request.
